1. He was a gardener. His whole estate was full of his trees, his flowers, his love.2. He found his spirituality and embraced new cultures. Then, he took said cultures and imported them into his beautiful music; respecting them, not just using them to get more people to listen to his music.
3. All of his songs had meaning. Okay, some of them were for fun, but majority of his solo
work was meaningful and you could relate to it.
4. His words touched your soul and sometimes, m
ade you think about the world, yourself, and everyone around you.
5. Listen to his voice when you listen to another one of his songs again. No really, do it. The emotion in his voice when he sings is almost heartbreaking. If he wanted to make you cry, make you feel what he felt, he could.
6. He wasn’t fake. He didn’t sing about things he didn’t believe in, just as he didn’t protest, or raise money for things he didn’t care about. Just the same, if he did care, he’d be there, or he’d do or say something.
7. He was a private man. He didn’t flaunt his life, or his wife a
nd son in front of photographers for money or popularity. He had respect for himself.
8. He was a strong man. Mentally and physically; fighting against his cancer and surviving
his assault.
9. He made many friends (Petty, Lynne, Dylan, etc) and they all made music together. But they did not write about ‘banging bitches’ or ‘killing hoes’. Again, respect. THEY WROTE ABOUT HANDLING WITH CARE. Respect.
10. He was an amazing dad, husband, and person. That alone says a lot.
